David Arivett made a recording of A Ballad For T. This piece is a dedication to Thelonious Monk. David's playing on solo piano is deeply expressive. It can be heard on the A Ballad For T page.
After adding several new pieces to my website, I now have 46 originals featured as a representation of my work on the Selected Originals page.
David Arivett made a recording of Fanfare. It beautifully captures the spirit of this piece. It can be heard on the Fanfare page. The ensemble sound is different from his other recordings for me. It has a trumpet section added to a mid-size ensemble with soprano sax, alto sax, trombone, tuba, and rhythm section (with Brazilian percussion).
I finished an arrangement of Fanfare for 5 wind instruments and rhythm section. Flexible instrumentation is used to enable the music to be played by many configurations of instruments. The Fanfare page on my website has a link to the ensemble score. Bands that are interested in playing this piece can write to me from the Contact page.
My handwritten score for Smaller Ups And Downs has been put into Sibelius and revised. The Smaller Ups And Downs page on my website has a link to the score at the New Music USA Library.
This piece is for 5 wind instruments (flexible instrumentation) and soloist. The role of the soloist is entirely improvised. In addition, the soloist does not have to be limited to one musician. It can be expanded to multiple musicians -- up to a small band (any genre). Any creative possibility can be explored. Ensembles that are interested in playing this piece can write to me from the Contact page. I finished transcribing my hand-written score for Connecticut Avenue SUVs into Sibelius. This piece is for 5 wind instruments and rhythm section. Flexible instrumentation is used to enable the music to be played by many configurations of instruments. The Connnecticut Avenue SUVs page on my website has a link to the ensemble score. Bands that are interested in playing this piece can write to me from the Contact page.
David Arivett made a recording of Twilight Sail. The demo sounds like violin, piano, bass, and drums. It can be heard on the Twilight Sail page.
The Sailmaker's Cat has been added to my website. It is an older fiddle tune that I recently found in my music files. I remembered that I liked this tune and decided to dust it off. Fiddle players (and other musicians) are welcome to give it a try.
David Arivett made a recording of Samba Da Aguia Pescadora. The demo sounds like flute, piano, bass, and drums. It can be heard on the Samba Da Aguia Pescadora page.
A new recording has been made of Baltmore Rowhouse. David Arivett added the horn lines in my mid-size ensemble score to the small group recording that was made for me several years ago by Jason Shapiro and Philadelphia-area music friends. This is the closest thing that I have so far to a live recording of my mid-size ensemble pieces. It can be heard on the Baltimore Rowhouse page.
